Scotland and Rob Field drew their recent Test series with Wales 1-1 with a win apiece and a draw in their three matches.
Holcombe vice-captain Field captained his country throughout the Series, playing in all three matches as Scotland kicked off the three games with a 2-1 win over Wales, whose squad included former Holcombe player Rhodri Furlong.
Wales responded with a 4-1 victory in the second match before Scottish hearts were broken late on in the third match.
The hosts looked set to earn their second win from three with the score at 2-1 late on, but a last-minute goal from Wales ensured that the spoils were shared.
Scotland’s next competitive action comes in August at the EuroHockey Championship Qualifier A in Vienna, Austria, with the women’s event being hosted in Glasgow.
