Ollie Payne selected for final Great Britain FIH Pro League 2023/24 matches

By Lucas Ball

Congratulations to Holcombe’s Ollie Payne who has been selected in Great Britain’s latest FIH Pro League squad, with Paul Revington’s side set to take on Germany and Belgium in the Netherlands to conclude their 2023/24 campaign.

The four Pro League matches are Great Britain’s final competitive fixtures ahead of the Olympic Games starting next month, for which Payne has also been selected.

Great Britain currently sit fifth in the table but could finish anywhere from first to seventh depending on their upcoming results – with the Netherlands, GB, Belgium and Germany the only sides yet to conclude this season’s Pro League campaigns.

Former Holcombe players David Ames, Phil Roper and Sam Ward are all included.

Meanwhile, Great Britain’s women are currently seventh, the lowest they can possibly finish, while four wins would give them a chance at finishing in fourth, ahead of Alyson Annan’s China.

David Ralph has selected five former Holcombe players in his squad in Miriam Pritchard, Laura Roper, Charlotte Watson, Sarah Robertson and Sarah Jones.
