A National League Hockey Club, part of Holcombeians Sports Club

Welcome To Holcombe Hockey Club

We are an established and inclusive club with a vision to provide a home of hockey for all. You will always be made to feel welcome when you join us at Holcombe Park – whether as a player, a supporter, a volunteer or an official.

Our Men’s and Women’s first-teams both play in the England Hockey National League (Men’s Premier Division and Vitality Women’s Division One South), which sees them compete against the best teams in the country. Our first-team players are all committed to performing at the highest standard and the club is firmly behind these aspirations.

Our Men’s team features former Great Britain and England captain Barry Middleton, who also brings his wealth of experience to the club as our Director of Hockey, Scotland international Robert Field, GB and England players Ollie Payne, Phil Roper and Nick Bandurak, alongside other rising stars in the national squad, Sam Taylor and Tom Russell. New Zealand internationals Hayden Phillips and Brad Read and Wales man Rhodri Furlong are also in the squad. Our Women’s first-team squad includes New Zealand internationals Phoebe Steele and Deanna Ritchie, Australian Jade van der Zwan as well as a host of experienced Vitality Premier Division players such as Emma Bandurak, Harriet Pittard and Charlotte Daly.

We have something for everyone, whether you’re new to the sport or looking to develop your existing hockey skills. We offer competitive, social and inclusive hockey opportunities, within our 10 men’s and 5 women’s senior teams, through to our junior programme for under-8s to under-18s. You can play in a competitive league structure, join our popular social adult ‘Back To Hockey’ or junior ‘Hockey Heroes’, take part in our inclusive ‘Flyerz’ hockey sessions, or just come to watch hockey action from the comfort of our terraces which overlooks our water-based pitch.

Our junior section continues to go from strength to strength and we have an established support team developing the section. Junior training – on a Sunday morning and Tuesday evening – currently attracts over 200 participants aged five to 16-years-old.

Our senior club coaches include GB’s record cap holder Barry Middleton, current GB captain David Ames [both Men’s first team] and rising international star Nick Bandurak and New Zealand internationals Hayden Phillips and Brad Read [all Women’s first team]. All coaches bring a wealth of experience to the club. Barry and Nick support coach education throughout the club and believe in growing the player pathway from the junior to adult section. We also have dedicated coaches for every team, ensuring consistent training and development throughout.

We look forward to welcoming you to our ‘home of hockey’ here at Holcombe Park.
