By Lucas Ball

Ollie Payne, David Ames, Phil Roper and Nick Bandurak have all been called up to the England squad for the upcoming EuroHockey Championships in Munchengladbach, Germany from 18th–27th August.

Ames will captain Paul Revington’s side at the tournament where England, who have recently moved up to third in the world rankings, will take on Belgium, Spain and Austria in Group A.

The winners of the tournament will also secure qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

Men’s team Head Coach, Paul Revington, said: “I’m pleased to announce such a strong England team for the EuroHockey Championships. We’ve had some really promising performances over the last 12 months and I want to see the team continue that form and momentum in Germany.
