South African International and ex-Holcombe men’s first team player Chris Bowen parachuted in at very short notice to help us last season to fill the void left by Kevin Johnson taking on an exciting full-time role with Hockey Wales.
Chris not only had little time to prepare for the coming season but also lost two of our most high-profile players so had a lot to cope with. His skill and hard work meant the club achieved the goal he was set to maintain the Women’s 1st XI’s position in the Vitality Premier Division.
Chris is a founding partner in Evo Hockey and the growing success of that organisation and increasing time requirements on him have meant he is unable to continue in post next season. We gratefully pass on thanks to him from the club as a whole and me personally for his help.
We are pleased to announce a new coaching team for the Women’s 1st XI, who are in-post and working already.
