By Lucas Ball

Congratulations to M1s’ goalkeeper Ollie Payne who has been nominated for the FIH Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Payne, capped more than 50 times by Great Britain and England since his international debut in 2020, has been with Holcombe since the same year and has kept four clean sheets in 13 appearances so far this season.

This is the 24-year-old’s first nomination for the award and he will be aiming to become the first male British goalkeeper to win it since it began in 2014.

Voting is open now – follow this link!

Voting closes on 11th December with the winners announced on 19th December.

A former Surbiton player and one of Payne’s international teammates has also been nominated for the Player of the Year award in Zach Wallace.

Former Holcombe player Maddie Hinch won the women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award in three consecutive years from 2016-18.
