Congratulations to Holcombe players Ollie Payne, Phil Roper and Nick Bandurak who have all been selected in Great Britain’s squad for their FIH Pro League matches in Argentina against the hosts and the Netherlands.
David Ames misses out through injury while former Holcombe player Sam Ward has also been included.
Payne has kept four clean sheets in the Premier Division so far this season and was recently nominated for the FIH Goalkeeper of the Year award, while Roper and Bandurak have been in electric form in attack, scoring a combined 29 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.
Paul Revington, Men’s Head Coach, told Great Britain Hockey: “We’re all looking forward to getting started for the new international season. We face a tough schedule in Argentina with four matches in five days, however, this will provide us with a valuable test ahead of the Olympic Qualifier in Oman.
“We have several athletes who could make their Great Britain debuts in Argentina which is a testament to the quality of these individuals and to the hard work the entire squad continues to deliver both on and off the field.”
Great Britain’s next set of Pro League fixtures will be in London in June, hosted at Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre.
